Miss Amelia is back in action!

Sooooo my bike has a name AND metallic handlebar streamers. If nothing else, she makes onlookers smile. She was a victim of our move 21 months ago, but my husband got her all tuned up and ready to cruise this weekend! Now, if only we could find the back basket and the bell …

20150201-162421-59061799.jpg I’m not sure how I went so long without a bike in Japan and living on base. Once we have the back basket and bell attached, I can use it to go to the gym, run errands, and even to get to a train station or elsewhere out in town. Hopefully Miss Amelia can help me work in my fitness, too. I made a HUGE mistake when I bought a bike without gears. I think every day of riding Miss A will qualify as a leg day. Eeek!

UPDATE: Today was Day 2 of Miss A on the streets of Japan, and I already went  ass-over-handlebars when one of the pedals FLEW off. Like, I don’t know how or why it happened, but the pedal landed like 20ft from me. Miss A and I are fine. Unrelated, I can now confirm that every day riding Miss A is, in fact, leg day, but I’m going to get back into my desired shape, one long bike ride at a time.

  1. i love your blog! it is so much fun to read, but most importantly- helpful. 🙂 The same scenario with your bike happened to me on the Pensacola beach bike trail for all to see hahaha
