A typical deployment evening.

Me: After a few hours at the base pool, I came home and made a Weight Watchers frozen dinner and a little frozen side dish. Afterwards, I found out that Gone with the Wind (my favorite movie) was on TV, so I made myself two very stiff drinks and enjoyed dessert (Haribo gummy Coke bottles) while watching the movie. I’m now wandering around online and chatting with friends via iMessage and Facebook Messenger.

A Friend: After taking her kiddo to ballet class and swimming lessons, she fed her daughter, gave her a bath, and put her to bed. She then put a frozen pizza in the oven, burnt it because her husband called and distracted her, and then finished her evening watching a Mark Walburg movie, eating burnt pizza, and drinking a bottle of wine.

This, my friends, is how military wives survive deployment.
